Dividing up into groups

Dividing up into groups happens at the rope tows at both our locations. We start at 09.30 so the courses can start on time at 10.00 a.m. We look at exactly how they ski now. Especially after one year's break it's possible that some kids need a little time to get going again. This is why, sometimes, there might some changes within the groups during the first two days. It doesn't do any harm to practise for a short time on Saturday afternoon to be ready to show your skiing ability!

Dino's Tip for ambitious skiers: go to bed early and have a good breakfast! .

DINO STARTS TO PLAY
In this group we start our winter sport career. Whilst playing the kids gently get a feel for skiing - they should have fun! In small groups up to max of 6 children, they learn how to put on and take off their skis, how to move on skis as well as how to schuss safely.

DINO BEGINS - GROUP V
The aim is to ski in a controlled snowplough and snowplough turn as well as braking. First of all we practise in the Fun & Pro children's area using the belts, then we go to the nursery lift where we consolidate what we have already learnt. Then we will learn how to use the life correctly and practise using it. When children can ski in a group, brake and get up without any help, then there's nothing stopping us from the first real run down. Dino comes by to check on the learning progress often. As it can be very tiring, there is also a short break for a drink and the ski instructor naturally has a goody bag with him / her too.

DINO TURNING - GROUP IV
The child has mastered the first hurdle and will now learn the interplay between the small and large snowplough, the difference between fast and slow skiing. We can now master blue runs easily.

DINO SWINGS - GROUP III
"Carving from the wedge position" is the focus in this group. This means the skis are closed after each turn and the children get even closer to the parallel turn.

DINO FLYING - GROUP II
With the speedy ones, it's all happening!. We will practise how to control speed. They will learn parallel turns with pole plants, mogul fields, off-piste and naturally controlled jumps will not be missing from this group.

DINO ON HIS WAY TO BEING A PRO - GROUP I
Ski parallel turns and short turns well are our main aims here - the King's discipline - this really separates the wheat from the chaff. We've now reached the highest level, where new possibilities begin, as there are many things to discover and experience in the world of winter sport -but that's another story.
